There were two settings in this book. Maddie, Zoey and Angela lived in Atlanta, Georgia their whole lives. Atlanta is your typical city. I would say it’s more like the twin cities. It’s a bigger city, but with smaller parts around it. The second setting is in San Diego, California. This was where Angela was forced to move halfway throughout the book. San Diego is a very large city. Angela lives a few minutes out of San Diego in a smaller town. Angela’s favorite thing to do is to go into “the city”. That’s just what they call San Diego.
This book takes place in present time. The girls are just your average teenage girls. They have all of the electronics that all of the other girls our age do. If it was ten years old, they wouldn’t have new cell phones that they can go on a chat room on. So that helps us a little.
The setting is very important in this book. If Zoey, Angela and Maddie didn’t live in a city they wouldn’t be on the internet all the time or drive to go get something to eat. If they lived in the country, they probably would not all have their own cars. They would not have their style in clothes that do. They would have to wear warmer clothes or something that they could sometimes get dirty. They probably wouldn’t be on the internet all the time either. They would still hang out the same amount of time, just probably would not do the same things that they do now. They couldn’t just drive to the mall and go shopping. They would hang out at somebody’s house or something like that.
Zoey, Maddie and Angela wouldn’t have the same attitude about things either. They think that people who live in the country are just hillbillies with no lives or anything. They also think that people who live in the country are completely cut off from electronics or anything.

I think you do a nice job here discussing time period, place, and importance. Interesting thought about the country- you'd probably guess I am a country gal.
